Dance with BTS 'Permission to Dance', Youtube Shorts first challenge

SEOUL, July 20 (Yonhap) -- 'Youtube Shorts', Youtube's service for uploading videos in short forms, is beginning a "Permission to Dance" challenge, BTS's Billboard Main Single Chart 1st place winning song. 

 

A dance challenge for this song will be on Youtube Shorts from this 23rd the to the next 14th, Big Hit Music(BTS's management agency) and Youtube announced on the 20th.

 

This is the first global dance challenge on Youtube Shorts since the recent launching of its Beta Service. 


Participants can join this event by editing and uploading a 15 seconds-video of their dancing to "Permission to Dance."

BTS will be selecting out of these challenge videos and later produce them into a compilation. If a participant wishes to be selected, "PermissiontoDance" and 'Shorts' hashtags(#) are all that is needed. 

Shin Young-jae, an official from Big Hit Music, said, ""Permission to Dance" conveys a message that encourages anyone to freely dance in any way they like. Through this challenge, we wish for all the people around the world to be able to dance freed from any restraints." 

BTS is one the largest 'Youtube Influencer's with about 54 million subscribers and 34 videos viewed over thousand million times. Their contents were played more than ten billion times for the past one year.  

Their hit songs "Butter" and "Dynamite" ranked 1st and 2nd most viewed music videos in 24 hours. 

"Permission to Dance," released on the 9th, also has 170 million views as of 9 a.m. on the 20th.
