21 century pop icons BTS to appear on BBC Radio 1's 'Live Lounge'

SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- Superband BTS will make their first-ever appearance on BBC's famous Radio 1 show "Live Lounge," on July 27, the group's agency Big Hit Music said Friday.

The septet will perform its first English language song "Dynamite," along with latest single "Permission to Dance," and a special cover of Puff Daddy and Faith Evans' track "I'll Be Missing You."

Apart from the performance, BTS will also hold a virtual interview with the show's host Adele Roberts.

The host wrote, "I am beyond excited for this & the wonderful BTS army. Cannot wait! We purple you" on her Twitter page to voice her excitement. 

The BBC Press Office also tweeted, "BBC One to explore the sensational rise to fame of 21st century pop icons BTS, as they make their debut in the world-famous BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge!"

Radio 1's "Live Lounge" is a show that is loved not only in the UK but also around the world, and features global artists to perform and cover performances. Previously, famous singers such as Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift have appeared.

The radio show, which is broadcast on BBC Radio 1, is also available on YouTube channels, BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
