SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) -- "I was overwhelmed with enthusiasm but tried to suppress the excitement and calm down telling myself that 'I was only meant to take part in this work and that doesn't mean that I am extraordinary.'"

Kang Min-ah (24) who took her first leading role on television by starring in KBS 2TV drama "At a Distance, Spring is Green," after having appeared in tvN "True Beauty", and JTBC "Beyond Evil", delivered her feelings after finishing the drama through a video interview on the 20th.

In the series "Spring is Green," which aired its last episode yesterday, Kang acted as a shy and timid college student Kim So-bin, later shared her troubles with the interview saying, "It was hard to grasp the boundary on how much I should show the timidness of this character because it could be a disturbance for the viewers' emotions, if the main character looked too stuck."

But she also expressed her affection for the character adding, "Though So-bin appears to be an introvert, she asks for what she deserves and speaks up when she needs to. She is a strong person with deep thoughts and tries to overcome herself."

About the story, "When you look at the lines, no one is perfect. Even Yeo Jun (by Park Ji-hoon), who seems perfect, has his own drama, Nam Soo-hyun (by Bae In-hyuk) is going through a hard time with money, Su-bin has issues with her mother and has a trauma" and "I think that is what makes this drama more easily sympathized by many people."

Seeing the young characters in their 20s struggling with the lives, the actress said that she has also looked back at her own youth but answered, "I'm not sure."

"Maybe I cannot quite understand the preciousness of this age because I'm in the middle of my youth. Wouldn't I be saying 'that was the best times of my life' looking back at this period when I become about over 40 years old?"

When asked for her personal preference between the two men in the love triangle, "At first I said I'd go with Yeo Jun because I like cute and straightforward types but after some time I noticed that he seems to be off his phone a lot," so "I'd rather choose Soo-hyun because he seems to be more in touch. As for meals, I can pay for them." answered the actress.

Also about Park Ji-hoon and Bae In-hyuk whom she worked with, "The two were very close friends with each other and I was just used in the middle of them," and "rather than jealousy, I couldn't help watching them with a smile like a mother or an older sister, seeing them joke around together which was quite funny", she responded.

Kang Min-ah, who caught the eyes of the public when appeared in a series "Jang Ok-jung, Living by Love" as a child version of Kim Tae-hee, one of South Korea's most loved and beautiful actresses, met her child version actor through this recent drama.

"I once also started my career as a little version of someone, and it came to me that now 'I really grew up seeing a child version of me, too' (chuckles) Looking at Ah-rin, the little actor who acted as my childhood version, reminded me of when I was young myself so I wanted to take extra care for her and it also gave me mixed feelings."

She still has a lot more to bring out from her for the watchers and made a wish saying, "On the second half of the year I want to actively engage in acting like I did on the first half."

"I think it is not yet the time for me to take a long break. It is time for me work restlessly. My goal is to get more recognition from the public during the remaining days of this year.
