SEOUL, Jan. 7 (Yonhap) -- Reah Keem, a virtual human created by LG Electronics, will soon release her first album and debut as a singer.

LG Electronics announced its plan to drop Keem’s debut album within this year at CES 2022, the world's largest IT (information technology) and home appliance exhibition held in Las Vegas on the 6th.

Keem is a virtual human first unveiled at CES 2021. LG Electronics applied voice and movement to the virtual singer through motion capture work, deep learning technology, and natural language processing. The name 'Reah' means "a child from the future."

LG Electronics created this unique character by giving it various characteristics. Keem is a 23-year-old woman living in Seoul and a 'Virtual Influencer' who makes music.

“Reah is currently preparing a self-composed song. Please show support to her debut album which will drop this year,” said the company in the 'LG World Premier' video at the CES.

The company explained that Keem is collaborating with the South Korean entertainment Mystic Story, which includes singer Yoon Jong-shin.

In the LG World Premier video, a clip of Keem dancing in her music video was also released.

LG Electronics currently runs Keem’s Instagram account, with about 14,000 followers as of this day.

The company is expected to promote its brand and engage in online marketing activities targeting the MZ generation (a Korean term referring to millennials and Generation Z) through Reah Keem in the future.

An official of LG Electronics said, "There is no framework set for Kim Rae-ah's activities in the future," adding, "If her popularity increases, we will be able to work in various fields, including album work and advertisements."
