SEOUL, July 27 (Yonhap) -- South Korean comic company JAEDAM MEDIA has signed a contract on Tuesday with Zium Content and 221b to produce popular webtoon "Hajijeom (Summer Solstice Point)" into a drama.

"Hajijeom," written and drawn by YUJU, depicts a romance that takes place when Seo-ha, a divorcee and owner of a cafe, feels unusual feelings towards Ji-hoo, a 20-year-old part timer.

The main flow of the story follows the emotional change of Seo-ha, who approaches Ji-hoo whenever her previous unhappy marriage comes into mind, and Ji-hoo's feelings grows toward for Seo-ha. By expressing the two character's subtle relationships in simple drawings, the webtoon is popular among readers in their 20s and 30s.

It is also said that this webtoon is different from other adult works as it portrays the relationship between man and woman in a serious and pleasant manner rather than explicitly showcasing the story. Despite the webtoon being accessible for readers over 19 years old, this feature has become the driving force behind the formation of a solid fandom among adult readers.

As soon as "Hajijeom" was first released on Ridibooks in November 2019, it topped the popularity list for 16 consecutive weeks, received the 2020 Ridibooks webtoon award, and is currently available on many platforms such as Naver Series, Lezhin Comics, and Bomtoon.
