SEOUL, May 6 (Yonhap) -- Singer IU has donated 100 million won in line with Children's Day on the 5th.

According to her agency EDAM Entertainment on the 6th, IU said, "I want to share the love that I have received from so people with the children. So I'm sending my love to those who need it. I hope it will be a Children's Day where all children can smile more brightly and dream of a happy future."

Through ChildFund Korea, the donation will be used to help those with low income, including single parents, children and adolescents raised by their grandparents, tuition supports for those entering college any many more.

Since her debut, IU has consistently donated with the name of her fan club "Uaenas" or "IUena" on special anniversaries.

On the other hand, IU has acted in the movie "Broker," coming out on June 8th, and has been officially invited to the competition section of the Cannes International Film Festival being held this month.
