The singer was sentenced to a year in prison, 2 years of suspension, 40 hours of community service and 40 hours of drug treatment course in his first trial at the Daegu District Court, Andong Branch. But only the prosecution filed an appeal insisting that the sentence was light.

Wheesung was sent to court for having purchased 3,910㎖ of propofol with 60.5 million won 12 times until the end of November in 2019 from A who he contacted to buy about 670㎖ of the drug with 10 million won after seeing an Internet advertisement in front of a hotel in Songpa distrct, Seoul that year.

He was found to have administered the purchased propofol in 10 times in places such as hotels.

“Although the defendant has been punished with the same crime, he committed it again, and has administered a considerable amount, as the defendant has admitted his wrongdoings, shows repent and is trying to less rely on drugs, the first trial’s sentence does not seem light,” announced the court.
