'The Sound of Magic' ranks 7th globally in first day of release

SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) -- Netflix’s new original series “The Sound of Magic (Annarasumanara)” ranked 7th in the global rankings just one day after its release.

According to “FlixPatrol”, an online content service ranking site, on the 8th, “The Sound of Magic” ranked 7th in the global Netflix TV program category as of the 7th.

By country, it ranked second in Qatar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, and third in 11 countries including India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

According to the rankings released on this day, a total of 32 countries were considered, centering on the countries in Asia and the Middle East, where “The Sound Of Magic” were ranked in the top 10, while South Korea, the United States, and major European countries were not part of the countries.

“The Sound of Magic” was ranked 7th on Netflix's “Today's Top 10 Series” in South Korea.

“The Sound of Magic” was released in 190 countries on the 6th.

FlixPatrol is a private site that scores and aggregates the rankings by country based on the TOP 10 rankings provided by Netflix.

“The Sound of Magic” shows the beautiful life after a magician called “Lee Eul (Ji Chang-wook)” appears in front of a girl named Yoon Ah-yi (Choi Sung-eun) who lost her dream, and a boy named Na Il-deung (Hwang in-youp) who is forced to dream.

Based on the webtoon, Annarasumanara by Ha Il-Kwon, there will be scenes that resembles a musical with actors singing and dancing.
