'Cross Worlds' and 'Lineage M' becomes most loved mobile games in South Korea

SEOUL, July 22 (Yonhap) -- During the second quarter of 2021, Netmarble's "Cross Worlds" ranked first as the most downloaded games while NCSoft's "Lineage M" was found to be the top game purchase in South Korea.

According to App Annie's second quarter mobile game evaluation on Thursday, the following list was released.

In the download category, Gamepub's "Komori Life," Bilibili's "Final Gear," Nintendo's "Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp" and Devsisters' "Cookie Run: Kingdom" ranked second to fifth respectively after "Cross Worlds." Netmarble's "Cross Worlds" ranked second on Japan's most downloaded game list.

In terms of the mobile game purchases made by South Korea, NCSoft's "Lineage M" and "Lineage 2M" ranked first and second, showing the same results as last quarter. In total, South Koreans have spent $1.49 billion (about 1.7 trillion won) on mobile games during the second quarter of 2021.

"Cross Worlds" also ranked first in both download and consumer spending on the fastest-growing mobile game chart compared to the previous quarter.

From a global standpoint, SuperSonic's "Bridge Race" and "Hair Challenge" ranked 1st and 2nd in terms of downloads while "Roblox" topped the list for game purchases. "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile" ranked third in the same category.
