SEOUL, Nov. 17 (Yonhap) -- While “over-size” has been a steady trend for several years, the overall lengths of this winter’s outwears are predicted to be shorter.

Comfortable outwears which has gained popularity since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic will lead this winter’s trend, according to Samsung Fashion Wednesday.

Yet, due to the “living with COVID-19” scheme, this year’s fashion will move away from “one-mile wear” (clothes that you can easily put on at home or somewhere near home) to add a little formality.

Reflecting this trend, this year’s outwears on display are mainly loose fit coats or clothes made with padding or soft materials

Also, the overall lengths have become shorter which can be seen in short padded jumpers.

A number of puffer padded jumpers that fall just above the hip and short fur coats are on sale as well.

Meanwhile, over-size outwears that wrap around the whole body including the hands and ankles are gaining great popularity as well.

“As outdoor activities have increased due to the ‘living with COVID-19’ scheme, people have to think further from indoor fashions to outwears that are adequately formal but still comfortable. While short and over-size silhouettes are in trend for this winter, I recommend layering style,” said the head of Samsung Fashion Institute.
