SEOUL, June 21 (Yonhap) --Actor Nam Joo-hyuk has denied the allegations of school violence raised through the media and announced that they would take legal action against it.

Nam Joo-hyuk's agency, Management SOOP, refuted the allegations of school violence reported by some media on Monday, saying, "After confirming the facts with the actor, we can confirm that all of the information is not true."

On the same day, the online media The Days News reported that Nam Joo-hyeok inflicted school violence with other students in middle and high school, initiating “bread shuttle (when one student is picked on and/or bullied to do the errands for people who are in a stronger position than they are)” to other students, based on the claim of an anonymous informant.

“We will make sure that the people will be held responsible for seriously damaging the actor’s reputation with false reports,” said the agency. “We will request the Press Arbitration Committee to correct the information, and will be filing a criminal complaint against the reporter who first reported it along with the anonymous informant."

"We will be taking strict legal action for all acts of posting claims online without a clear fact-checking process," they continued. “We will take strong measures against malicious posts and comments that go beyond simply expressing opinions.”
