Shinhan Card releases 'fandom' cards for numerous K-pop groups

SEOUL, Sept. 14 (Yonhap) -- One of South Korea's biggest credit card companies, Shinhan Card, has unveiled four types of specialized fandom cards, including the "BTS card."

Shinhan Card announced on Tuesday that it has launched a "Weverse Shinhan Card" as a commercial credit card containing a plastic leaded chip carrier (PLCC) with Weverse Company, a fandom platform created by BTS' agency Hybe Corporation.

Weverse Shinhan Card consists of four types including BTS, Seventeen, Tomorrow X Together, and Enhypen.

The card is designed with images symbolizing each artist and fandom. For example, on the BTS card, a picture of the K-pop act and the icon that symbolizes BTS.

Additional photo design cards made with metal materials can also be issued for personal collection, and the issuance fee is 100,000 won.

The Weverse Shinhan Card is automatically registered as a payment method for Weverse Shop after issuance. Depending on the amount used in the previous month, Weverse Shop Cash, which can be used instead of cash at Weverse Shop, will be provided up to 70,000 won per month for credit cards and up to 30,000 won per month for debit cards.

The annual fee is 35,000 won for both overseas and domestic use while debit cards have no annual fee.

Applications for the Weverse Shinhan Card can be made through the Weverse Shop app after joining as a Weverse Shop member.
