SEOUL, May 18 (Yonhap) – I've always thought that I've given positive energy to many people. I believed that I would want to show my own “brighter yellow” color when I perform on the stage alone.”

Ye-rin from K-pop girl group GFRIEND defined herself at the media showcase held for her first solo mini album "ARIA” in Jung-gu, Seoul, on May 18 afternoon, saying, "If I would compare myself to color, I think I'm 'bright' yellow."

The singer, who debuted as a member of GFRIEND in 2015, signed an exclusive contract with Sublime Artist Agency and started performing as a solo artist after GFRIEND disbanded last year.

Ye-rin said, "Yellow has brightness, but it also has fresh and vital mood," adding, "I also want to show this kind of charm."

The album contains a total of five songs, including the namesake title song “ARIA,” “Believer,” the bright song with great energy, "Lalala," which expresses subtle excitement between men and women, and "Time," which contains Ye-rin’s sweet voice and delicate mood.

The title song "ARIA" is a dance song that combines various synthesizer sounds and refreshing vocals. With the motif of "solo vocal piece"(Aria), the singer expressed the willingness to color the world with her own color without caring what other people think.

Ye-rin said, "I think I have always lived by locking myself up," adding, "I always felt like I had to show only the bright side of me and I thought many people would love me only if I showed them a smile. I was trapped in this kind of thought but I think that period of time made me who I am I right now.”

She also mentioned, "I filmed the concept photos six to seven times to show my bright side, adding, "Whether it is visible or not, it has a huge meaning so please take a close look.”

The singer said, "As I’m making a new debut, I feel just as nervous as when I first debuted,” adding, “Please feel my heart pounding and the excitement together and I will work even harder so please keep an eye on me.”
