HYBE ARTISTS BTS·SEVENTEEN surpasses 50 million cumulative album copies

SEOUL, Jan. 12 (Yonhap) -- HYBE LABELS, with group BTS and SEVENTEEN, sold over 50 million copies of albums for the last eleven years.


Under HYBE labels, led by chairman Bang Shi-hyuk, are Big Hit Music, BELIFT LAB, Source Music, Pledis Entertainment, KOZ Entertainment, and HYE Labels Japan.

The album sales of artists under the HYBE LABELS, from Jan. 2011 to 2021, amounted to 56,707,254, according to the data by Gaon Chart on Wednesday.

BTS sold a total of 32,783,223 albums during this period and topped the accumulative album sales among the group and solo artists who debuted after 2011.

BTS' fourth full-length album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" released in February 2020 has sold more than 4.6 million copies so far.

SEVENTEEN, which debuted in 2015, recorded sales of more than 10 million albums.

SEVENTEEN's mini-albums "Your Choice" and "Attacca," which were released last year, had a successful run, with a total of 10,201,354 sales by November last year.


"Seventeen's cumulative album sales were about 3 million until the middle of 2019, but it showed an explosive growth, surpassing 10 million in two years and three months," said an official at HYBE labels.
 

Group TOMORROW X TOGETHER and ENHYPEN’s growth also stood out.


TOMORROW X TOGETHER sold a total of 3,332,307 copies and ENHYPEN sold 2,509,729 copies until November 2021.

In addition, NU'EST's cumulative album sales were 1,850,641 copies, indicating that all boy groups under the HYBE Labels achieved sales of more than 1 million copies.


Meanwhile, EXO’S Baekhyun and Tae-yeon from Girls’ Generation ranked first place for men and women in the cumulative sales of solo artists' albums.

EXO’s Baekhyun recorded the highest sales among solo artists, with a total of 2,657,711 albums sold, including the three albums "City Lights," "Delight," and "Bambi."

Baekhyun’s “Delight” and “Bambi” sold more than 1 million copies and the singer achieved his 8th “million-seller” record for both solo and group activities.

Kang Daniel (1,412,081) ranked second in cumulative album sales, followed by Kim Ho-joong (1,092,933), Tae-yeon (1,051,567), and SHINee’s Taemin (1,005,665).

Tae-yeon is the only female singer to be listed in the top 5.
