SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Yonhap) -- Girl band aespa who intrigued the public with their unique universe about avatars, has entered America's Billboard main chart with their 1st mini album, "Savage."

Billboard announced on the 17th (local time) through their social media that "Savage" has ranked 20th for weekly "Billboard 200" and 2nd place for "Top Selling Album," according to the band's agency SM Entertainment Monday.

Billboard 200 ranks albums by adding the traditional album sales with the number of streaming and digital music download converted into album sales.

'The band has reached Billboard main chart in 11 months of debut. This shows the band's global popularity as it is the highest record as a K-pop band's first album," announced SM Entertainment.

The band hot-debuted in November having gained large attention with their universe where each member has her own avatar.

“Savage,” released in early October, topped on major music site’s real-time charts and top-notched on music charts including Hanteo Chart, Synnara Record, Kyobo Book Center and Gaon Retail Album Chart.

Especially, the title song “Savage” swept 1st places on music programs such as KBS “Music Bank,” MBC “Show! Music Core” and SBS “Inkigayo” on their debut showing unprecedentedly explosive popularity for a rookie girl band
