Actor Park Seo-joon reportedly to join cast of superhero film 'The Marvels'

SEOUL, July 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korean top actor Park Seo-joon is reportedly set to appear in "The Marvels," the sequel of Marvel hero film "Captain Marvel."

IMDb, an online website that provides TV and movie information, posted Park's profile photo on the casting board of "The Marvels" on Friday, along with Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel.

Screen Rant, an American entertainment media, reported on the day that Park Seo-joon is highly likely to play Amadeus Cho, a Korean-American teenage hero, but is also open to the possibility of playing another hero or a villain.

Amadeus Cho is portrayed as a genius fictional superhero and a side kick of Marvel hero the "Hulk." Cho is also the son of Dr. Helen Cho, played by South Korean actress Claudia Kim in "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

Park's agency, AWESOME.ENT, stated that any related information about the movie could not be confirmed.

"The Marvels" is scheduled to hit theaters in the second half of 2022.
