SEOUL, May 4 (Yonhap) -- Kim Hyo-joo announced to have ranked seventh in the world ranking for women golf players, going up two notches from last week's rank.

Kim Hyo-joo, who returned to the top of the LPGA Tour after five years and three months by winning the HSBC World Championship in Singapore on the 2nd, raised her chances of competing in the Tokyo Olympics in July this year.

This year's Tokyo Summer Olympics will be open to the top four Korean athletes in the world rankings at the end of June.

While Ko Jin-young, Park In-bee and Kim Se-young defended the first to third places, Kim Hyo-joo seems to have begun to secure her ticket to participate in the Tokyo Olympics as she ranked seventh worldwide and fourth among Korean players.

The fifth-ranked Korean player is Ryu So-yeon, who came in 16th within the world rankings.

In order for Ryu So-yeon to compete in the Tokyo Olympics, she must first raise her world ranking to the top 15, and overtake either Ko Jin-young, Park In-bee, Kim Se-young, or Kim Hyo-joo.

Ryu So-yeon is followed by Lee Jung-eun, Lee Sung-hyun (19th), and Jang Hana (20th).

Kim Se-young, Jeon In-ji and Yang Hee-young participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics, where women's golf was adopted again 116 years after the 1900 Paris Games.

Meanwhile, Park Hyun-kyung (21), who won her second consecutive KLPGA Championship, a major tournament on the KLPGA Tour that ended in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province on the 2nd, climbed up eight steps from 63rd to 55th.
