Reenactment of request for teaching

Elementary school pupils attired in traditional Korean outfits take part in the enactment of a rite at Guam Seowon, a Confucian academy from the 1392-1910 Joseon Dynasty, in the southeastern city of Daegu on May 12, 2022, three days ahead of Teachers' Day. During the rite from the dynasty, known as "soksurye," they learn how to respectfully ask their teacher to teach them and present him with a small gift. (Yonhap)
