SEOUL, June 8 (Yonhap) -- Director Ryoo Seung-wan's new film "Mogadishu," starring Kim Yoon-seok and Jo In-sung, has been confirmed to be released this summer. It is the first Korean blockbuster to premiere this summer after the corona virus outbreak.

Film distributor Lotte Entertainment confirmed the release of director Ryoo's 11th feature film "Mogadishu" and released the first poster for the movie on Tuesday.

"Mogadishu" depicts a true story of workers from the South and North Korean embassies who were isolated during the 1991 Somali Civil War and struggle for survival.

In addition to top actors Kim Yoon-seok and Jo In-sung, Heo Joon-ho, actress Kim So-jin, Jung Man-sik, and Koo Kyo-hwan will also appear.

"Mogadishu," which was filmed in Morocco with a production cost of 20 billion won, was scheduled to be released last summer, but has been delayed due to the corona virus.

Additionally, two Disney films including "Black Widow" starring Scarlett Johansson and Emily Blunt's "Jungle Cruise," are expected to be released in July.
