Crested ibis restoration project in S. Korea

A crested ibis flies after being released into the wild from an ibis restoration center in Changnyeong, 347 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on Oct. 14, 2021. The center, which introduced a couple of crested ibises from China for restoration in 2008, released 40 crested ibises, including 24 female ones the same day. Crested ibises, called "ttaogi" in Korean, had disappeared in the country since they were last spotted at the Demilitarized Zone bisecting the two Koreas in 1979. (Yonhap)
